Frequently Asked Questions
What is a VCD or SVCD?
VCD stands for Video CD. Basically it's an Mpeg encoded file on a CD
that can be played in nearly ALL DVD players and ALL PCs.
An SVCD is basically a VCD, but Super....that's what the "S" stands for.
The difference with these, is that it usually has a selectable audio track
with selectable subtitling.
To see if your DVD player will play VCDs or SVCDs, please visit: Http://www.VCDhelp.com.
Will VCDs or SVCDs play on my Playstation 2?
No - sadly, the PS2 doesn't play VCDs or SVCDs. However, if you have a
Sega Dreamcast - you'll be happy to know that it WILL play VCDs with a VCD
loader disc available from the Animonster Dreamcast page. Just follow the
link to the left.
The items that aren't listed in VCD or SVCD format - what are they?
They're high quality media files meant to be played on any PC.
So, basically, you watch these on your computer. They're very durable, and
versatile.
Can you convert those items to VCD to play on a DVD player?
ABSOLUTELY! Quite easily, I might add. If interested in converting your
items to VCD format - please let us know. We'll be more than happy to
provide all need programs and step-by-step instructions for this.
So, what do I need to play the Video Games that you offer?
Well, if you buy a PSX game - you'll need a Modchip. These are
available from many online stores including Modchip.com, or lan-kwei.com.
At lan-kwei.com you'll also be able to find a PS-Xchange disc, which makes
playing these PSX games even easier!!!
Now, if you're buying a Dreamcast game - you don't need ANYTHING! A
Dreamcast doesn't need to be modified in ANY WAY! Just remember, some of
the games require a boot disc which is also available from us at the
Dreamcast page.
